You are reading this article becasue your emails are bouncing and the bounce email is referencing that your server IP is blocked.
We use a service calledrblmon.comwhich alerts us when one of our shared server ip's gets blocked. They check over 50 different RBL's and send us a daily report telling us which server ip's are being flagged by the blacklists. 99% of the time we are not being blocked.
But how do we get blacklisted in the first place?
Unfortunately, some people allow theirweb sites to be hackedresulting in spammers taking over. Some people simply subscribe to our hosting just to see if they can send out spam and will try and circumvent the measures we have in place and do sometimes succeed resulting in many spams being sent, and the server ip being blacklisted. Seeing that everyone is sharing a server, everyone on the same server gets affected.
What can I do if my IP is blackisted?
The first thing you do is obvioulsy contact us to let us know of the issue in case we are not yet aware. We will then investigate and see if we can resolve the blocking issue. You can also contact the recipient and request that they whitelist your email address on their spam firewall. Obvioulsy this is not ideal but it is what it is and is the quickets way to get your email through in case of a blacklisting event.
How do I prevent this from happening in future?
The guaranteed option is that you can upgrade your email service to our Professional Email Hosting, which is a thrid party, professional email solution. This email is handled outside of our network and is managed by a team of email specialists. So long as you are a legitinate business user then you will not have the issue of being blacklisted like you are on the web server cpanel email.
