My Wordpress account was hacked. What happened and what do i do now?
Due to the open source nature of wordpress and the availability of plugins and themes from unknown third party sources, its possible that your wordpress installation can get compromised very easily if you do not take precautions to secure wordpress.
We provide you with server space for your web site files, space which has several layers of security at the server level, however of course we give you full control of your hosting account including usernames and passwords and the ability to change folders which of course hands security over to you and away from us.

Wordpress has written a useful guide on what to do when your wordpress installation gets hacked. We suggest you read through it and then contact us if you wish for your account to be restored (see further down). Sometimes its possible that your account has not actually been seriously hacked and more often than not you can easily fix things by changing a few files.

If you need account restoration
As a courtesy to our customers we make weekly and monthly backups, so in the case you think your wordpress site has been hacked then we can provide a backup for you from the last weekly or monthly backup. Weekly backups are performed on a sunday morning, monthly backups are performed on the 1st calendar day of each month. Backups are usually performed between 2am and 6am.
CAVEAT: We only ever keep one copy of the previous backup, each new backup overwrites the current backup, so this is important to consider when restoration takes place. For example, if your site was hacked on the 31st of month and its now the 5th, then the monthly backup will contain the hacked site. Probably in this case we would do a restoration from the weekly backup however if the 31st lands on a saturday, then the weekly backup would also contain the hacked site.
